Version History and Recovery
Restore previous versions of your files and recover accidentally deleted items from the trash.
Understanding Version History
Felicloud automatically keeps previous versions of your files every time they're modified. This allows you to:
- Restore a file to a previous state
- Recover from accidental changes or overwrites
- View how a file changed over time
- Download specific older versions
Viewing File Versions
1. Find Your File
Navigate to the file in the web interface at cloud.felicloud.com.
2. Open File Details
Click on the file name to open it, or click the ⋯ menu and select "Details".
3. View Versions Tab
In the details sidebar, click the "Versions" tab to see all available previous versions with their dates and file sizes.
Restoring a Previous Version
1. Open Version History
Navigate to the file and open the Versions tab in the details panel.
2. Find the Version
Look through the list to find the version you want to restore. Versions show the date/time and file size.
3. Restore or Download
Click on the version to see options:
- Restore: Replace the current file with this version
- Download: Download this version without changing the current file
Version Retention
How Long Are Versions Kept?
Felicloud keeps versions based on an intelligent algorithm:
- Last hour: All versions kept
- Last 24 hours: One version per hour
- Last 30 days: One version per day
- Older: One version per week (up to available space)
Deleted Files (Trash)
When you delete a file, it's moved to the Trash instead of being permanently deleted:
Recovering Deleted Files
1. Open Trash
Click "Deleted files" in the left sidebar of the web interface.
2. Find the File
Browse or search for the file you want to recover. You can see when each file was deleted.
3. Restore the File
Click the restore icon (↩️) next to the file, or select multiple files and click "Restore" in the toolbar.
Permanently Deleting Files
To free up space immediately or securely delete sensitive files:
1. Go to Trash
Click "Deleted files" in the left sidebar.
2. Delete Permanently
You have two options:
- Single file: Click ⋯ → "Delete permanently"
- Empty trash: Click "Empty trash" to delete everything
Conflict Resolution
If the same file is modified on two devices before syncing, Felicloud creates a conflict file instead of losing either version:
document.docx
document (conflicted copy 2024-01-15).docx
When you see a conflict file:
- Open both versions to compare them
- Merge the changes manually if needed
- Delete the version you don't need
