Storage Space Management
Monitor your storage usage, free up space, and manage your storage quota effectively.
Checking Your Storage Usage
1. Web Interface
Click your profile icon in the top right and select "Settings". Your storage usage is displayed at the bottom of the settings panel.
2. Desktop App
Click the Felicloud icon in your system tray. The storage bar shows your current usage.
3. Mobile App
Go to Settings in the app menu. Your storage usage is displayed at the top.
What Counts Toward Storage
✅ Counts Toward Quota
- • All files you upload
- • File versions (history)
- • Files in Trash
- • Shared files you own
❌ Doesn't Count
- • Files shared with you by others
- • Thumbnails and previews
- • App data and settings
Freeing Up Space
1. Empty the Trash
Deleted files remain in trash for 30 days and still count toward your quota.
- Go to "Deleted files" in the left sidebar
- Review the files to make sure you don't need them
- Click "Empty trash" or delete specific items permanently
2. Remove Old Versions
File versions can accumulate over time, especially for frequently edited files.
3. Find Large Files
Identify your largest files to decide what to keep:
- Use the search bar and sort by size
- Review large files you may no longer need
- Consider compressing or archiving rarely used files
4. Remove Duplicate Files
Duplicate files waste storage space. Look for files with similar names or in multiple locations.
Storage-Saving Tips
📸 Optimize Photos
Consider uploading photos at slightly reduced quality (the mobile app has options for this). RAW files and 4K videos take significant space.
🗜️ Compress Archives
Create ZIP archives of folders you rarely access. This can significantly reduce space, especially for text-based files.
📁 Use Selective Sync
Keep rarely-used files in the cloud only. Use selective sync in the desktop app to avoid downloading everything locally.
🔗 Link Instead of Copy
Instead of copying files to share them, share the original. Copies double your storage usage.

What Happens When Storage is Full
When you reach your storage limit:
- You cannot upload new files
- Sync will pause for new and modified files
- Existing files remain accessible
- You can still delete files to free up space
- Shared files others upload to your folders are blocked
